I believe that our close relationships are central to our sense of wellbeing. Yet, because the stakes are so high they can be just as challenging as they are rewarding. If you and your partner are finding that you're stuck in the same fights over and over, navigating a life transition, or trying to move forward after a breach of trust, couples therapy can help. Sometimes couples come to therapy because they're simply feeling disconnected from one another and yearning for the sense of closeness that used to be there.

I practice Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy, an evidence-based method that begins by helping you understand the patterns of interaction that you and your partner get stuck in. Together we can explore the underlying feelings and unmet needs that are driving these patterns so that you can learn to meet each other differently. I also draw from somatic and trauma-focused therapies in order to resource couples whose relationships are impacted by one or both partner's trauma histories. This can be an important way to create safety and help when you are caught in a cycle of reacting to one another.

My practice welcomes all relationship constellations and I strive to create a safe space that affirms gender and sexual diversity.
